Mr. Martz, thank you so much for your warm welcome and care to my family and everyone there. R***** did not know how all this comes together until he had an opportunity to chat with you and he was super grateful for everything that you do for the families and our community. He didn’t see you resting once while he was there. You’re a blessing to our family and many others and we are so thankful to have been part of your family camp this weekend. We would like to donate another $**** toward your organization, least we can do. Thank you for all that you do. God bless.
Mrs. Davenport,
Good evening and hope you are having a great weekend.
I needed to take some time to express my family’s appreciation for the Outdoor Trails course and the effort that Mr. Martz puts into his students and the Texas Youth Hunting Program (TYHP). The message is long overdue but necessary as I sat tonight and reminisced with my son (Logan) as we have many times, about our adventure we had with Mr. Martz in January earlier this year. It wasn’t just that weekend but the four+ months worth of preparation that went into it where I saw my son begin to mature and make choices as an adult would. The experience opened up new relationships and bonds with other students and parents that may never have been had. The care and desire to give each student that opportunity was felt throughout the entire process. His family and past students volunteering their time was just phenomenal and an excellent example of how the students can give back to their community.
I’ve attached a photo of our group from that weekend. Briarhill staff, volunteer alumni, students, and parents all partaking in the adventure making it a priceless experience for all
Thank you and your staff for supporting Mr. Martz in these efforts. We greatly look forward to more of these opportunities provided by Briarhill and Mr. Martz, not only for Logan but my younger two children as well.
Respectfully —

Ms. Davenport, I just wanted to take a few minutes and tell you about the incredible experience that Maddox had this past weekend with Mr. Martz and taking part in the Texas Youth Hunting program. Please pass along our sincerest Thank You to Mr. Martz. This was such an awesome new experience for both Maddox and I. This was by far the best learning experience Maddox has ever had. It wrapped both education and real world experience together. You don’t just talk about it, you get involved. I was very impressed when the State of Texas Biologist showed up to the Ranch and spoke with the kids. They not only studied anatomy, but also food sources. They walked around and each found 2 different types of plants and came back and presented to the group what they had found and the pro/cons of each plant. The State of Texas Game Warden also came out to say hi to the kids and speak to them about his role. This program has it correct. The Master Hunters assigned to each kid were so passionate about explaining all aspects of nature resources. There is so much more to learn, from animal behaviors, to hierarchy of the herd, to different species. This is all explained and observed in a way that Maddox just soaked it all up. I cannot thank you enough for taking part in this program and backing Mr. Martz in the real world lessons he is making available. This is so important to learn. I hope that this program will continue to be available for LISD kids in the future. I cannot support and recommend this enough to the young boys and girls who are interested in learning but never had the opportunity to take part in this kind of activity. Thank you for allowing this program, and please continue to support this amazing program. Regards,
Jeremy Cope
Mr. Martz,
I know that Jack and I will remember our time crammed into a deer blind with you forever. Your passion for the outdoors and dedication to the kids you teach made it possible for me to spend a weekend with my son while he learned something I couldn’t teach him. The trip ignited a flame inside of him that will burn for the rest of his life and he is already talking about our next hunting trip.
Thank you for giving your time, considerable effort, and I am sure personal resources to provide the ideal scenario for Jack’s first hunting experience.
